The Writing Section will include:

30 x Stimulus with writing opportunity (each test includes a unique stimulus based on familiar extended writing topics which should take 40-60 minutes to complete)

• Each question has a writing prompt, a supporting image,  and an explanation in dot point form of what the examiners may be looking for out of a piece of writing.
• Students will be given a writing window, a word limit of 600 words and set time to create their written response. Once a student has completed their response, they can compare it to the Writing samples explained below.

3 x Writing Samples (3 samples for each stimulus to a total of 6 pieces of work) for each Writing Stimulus there will be three samples included that students can compare their own writing to. The response analysis software will grade the students work based on the criteria marked in the OLNA assessment.

• A Red sample: will show a student response which did not meet the minimum standard and a table will outline the issues in the response which limited its effectiveness.
• An Amber sample: will show a student response which is borderline for meeting the minimum standards and a table will outline the issues that meet the standard and those that place it in jeopardy of not meeting the requirements.
• A Green Sample: will show a student response which meets all of the standards for OLNA and a table will outline what this response has included which makes it successful.
